Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He did more in his short 27 years than most do in a full lifetime. He will be missed terribly by all those whose lives he touched.

Family of Mike--
I was informed of this email address via a friend, Laura (Mahncke) Joyce, after Mike's funeral. My name is Brooke and I was in Theta Tau with Mike for about 3 years. No words can describe how much my heart goes out to you all. Mike's family and friends are in my prayers. I wish you all the strength in the world. The one thing that sheds even the slightest bit of hope on such an untimely event is that Mike was doing what he loved at the time of his death: biking and hanging with friends.
I have no specific memories to write to you about, only the memory of a smile. Mike's smile was one of my favorite things about him. He shed light into any room he entered and I'll always remember that. He was an intelligent, hilarious, caring guy who could make just about anyone laugh. Anyone that can turn smiles on in an engineering building definitely has a talent! We were all so lucky to have had such wonderful years with Mike; even if they were too short. He'll be remembered by people all over. In Iowa, in New York and everywhere in between.
May the memories in your hearts and the ones we share comfort you in your time of loss.
My deepest sympathies,
Brooke Skora
