Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He did more in his short 27 years than most do in a full lifetime. He will be missed terribly by all those whose lives he touched.

I did not know your son well but I felt like I did and it hurt my heart when I heard about his death. My daughter Carey Morris was 4 years behind him in school and although she attended FM and was younger by far, had a huge crush on him, mostly because of his huge talent in showchoir. She and her friends would all collect in the front row at competitions and swoon. When he began working at the HyVee, with his cute smile and friendly way, all I would have to do is call her and tell her that he was working and she would offer to find time to do my shopping for me or return cans or whatever. She cut a picture of him out of the paper and blew it up to 8 x 11 and hung it on her bulletin board....and it stayed there all through her high school. I think she finally met him when she was a freshman at Iowa State and visiting Iowa City and she said that he was as nice as he was cute. He never knew, I am sure, how much these young girls admired him. It was all in his smile.
I understand loss as my husband passed away a few years ago and it was devastating. However, I can only imagine the loss of a child. You have my sympathy and heartfelt prayers.
