Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He did more in his short 27 years than most do in a full lifetime. He will be missed terribly by all those whose lives he touched.
From: Liz Hancock (August 2005)
I had the pleasure of getting to know Mike this year as he worked with our CIGNA team. I thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor, his wit, and his approach toward life. He and one of my colleagues, Sharon, who was our Project Manager, often had to work out varying points of view on a topic and come together in the end. I have to say I enjoyed watching Mike handle this, as he'd kid Sharon and take the topics on one at a time, working out good solutions for everyone. Sharon gave him an assignment when he went to Manila, to bring back a bunch of Coach pocketbooks for her from his trip. Most guys would not do that, but there was Mike, sitting in my office, back from his trip, with a plastic bag full of Sharon's pocketbooks - ready to deliver to her - as promised! (He was a bit fearful the Coach symbols were visible through the transparent plastic, though and folks would see him carrying this bag of purses around the office!)
I know Mike will be missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. I am thankful I had the opportunity to meet with such a joyful person - one who embraced life to the fullest. Those memories he gave all those who met him will never leave us. I hope those memories may bring some comfort to his family and friends during this difficult time, and in the days to come, as we remember Mike's smile, and know he'd expect us to try to live our lives to the fullest each day, as he did so well.
