Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He did more in his short 27 years than most do in a full lifetime. He will be missed terribly by all those whose lives he touched.

From: Doug Marley (July 2005)

To Family of Mike Burke,

First off let me start by saying, I travel the road from Ft. Madison thru West Point and on to Mt. Pleasant 5 to 6 times a week, and I've never seen as much traffic as I saw Wednesday nite. People were coming from all directions, to pay respect to Mike, I just thought you should know that, it was pretty obvious where everyone was headed. With that said my memories of MIke all stem from Hy-Vee, he had a great love of music, and was always dressed nice, he was very particular about his appearence, as well as being very approachable, didn't have one enemy. We would always talk music, and try and name what song was playing on the musac system, he would even sing from time to time while working in backroom. We had alot of great times there. I'm glad I got to speak with him around X-mas when he was back, we talked about New York because my sister lives ther also. He said he liked living there because it was non-stop action, and thats what Mike was all about. He will be greatly missed, God must have big plans for an out-going, energetic, guy like MIke, to take him so soon, believe me he is doing big things right now up there, smiling down on you.

Sincerely,
Doug Marley
